Principal Investigator

Project is held at the Medical University of Bialystok under the direction of Professor Karol Kamiński MD PhD, who is a cardiologist and internal medicine doctor. He is experienced in basic science as well as experimental cardiology, clinical cardiology and population sciences. The main fields of his scientific interests are pathogenesis of heart failure and other cardiovascular diseases. He is a co-author of more than 70 original papers (650 citations, Impact Factor 150). He took several clinical and scientific internships, including Hannover Medical School (Germany), Harvard Medical School (USA), University of Hull (UK). He was granted with scholarships of Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst, Foundation for Polish Science, and Polish Ministry of Health. He benefited from TOP 500 Innovators: Science – Management – Commercialization Program of the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education.  For his scientific and didactic achievements, professor was awarded with several prizes founded by: European Society of Cardiology, Polish Cardiac Society, Ministry of Health and Rector of Medical University of Bialystok.
